Why "Atriate"
In a Roman house, the atrium is the central room: the one everything passes through, the one that leads to all the others. Atriate is that place for a project. Everything about it passes through (the steps, the dates, the numbers, the notes), and it's where the project evolves, from zero to done.
It's pronounced the French way, "A-tri-ai-te": four syllables.
Project management, for people who have a project
Project management tools are built for teams, people who already know what to do and need to coordinate. If you're starting a business, changing careers, training for a race or preparing a move on your own, the hard part is knowing where to start.
Atriate starts there. You say what you want to achieve, in your own words. It breaks your project into milestones, then into steps that fit what you already know how to do, and shows you only the next one. The rest waits in the background until you get there. And every step you take is visible.

What Atriate sticks to
These six rules apply to both the app and this site.
The goal is enough.
Naming your goal is the only thing asked of you, with no blank page and no method to learn. You can add more detail if you want.
The next step, not the whole staircase.
Showing the whole plan at once is the surest way to give up. Distant milestones take shape when you reach them, with what you've learned on the way.
Your level, your pace.
The same project doesn't break down the same way for a beginner and for someone who knows the field, nor for an hour each evening and for one Sunday a week. The plan adapts to you.
The cost of every move is shown first.
You can see in advance which moves use credits and which are free. No overage billed afterwards, no trial that turns into a subscription.
Nothing is sold before it exists.
Features and plans appear on this site the day they work. No date is promised in advance.
Nothing is erased behind your back.
If your subscription ends or you switch to a lower plan, anything over the limits is locked without being erased. Everything becomes accessible again when you come back.
What you actually use
Atriate is a web app that installs on iPhone and Android without going through a store, in French and English, in light or dark theme. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and every account is isolated from the others. It is never sold, and your projects are never used to train any model. You can download a copy of your data or delete your account whenever you want, from the app.
It's designed and built in France, and it moves the way the projects it accompanies do: one step at a time, the next one when the previous is done.
